What age is the Banwood Balance Bike suitable for?
Recommended from around 2.5 to 5 years. The adjustable seat runs from 40cm to 50cm, which allows the bike to grow with the child through the balance-learning stage before they move to a pedal bike. Children at the lower end of the age range will typically need a seat setting closer to 40cm.
What is a balance bike and how does it help?
A balance bike has no pedals: the child pushes with their feet to move, developing balance and steering instinctively. Children who learn on a balance bike before moving to a pedal bike typically transition more quickly and without needing training wheels, because the core skill of balancing is already established.
What does the Banwood Balance Bike come with?
The bike arrives with a wicker basket and bell as standard. No training wheels are included because the balance bike itself is the training phase.
How heavy is the bike?
The bike weighs 4.5kg with a steel frame. That is light enough for a child of 2.5 to pick up and carry short distances, which matters in practice when they tire of riding and you need them to manage the bike themselves.
How do I care for the bike?
Wipe down with a damp cloth after outdoor use. Store in a dry place between sessions. Check that the saddle clamp is secure before each ride.
