We chose this mat because it does one simple job well: it marks out a soft, clean spot on the floor that looks finished rather than temporary. The pompom border gives it character without tipping into fuss, and the unbleached cotton sits comfortably alongside wooden floors, rattan and the neutral textiles most nurseries already have.

It also goes in the washing machine at 30°C, which is exactly what you want from something that lives on a playroom floor.

What age is this playmat suitable for?

MINICAMP recommends it from 3 years. It is not suitable for children under 36 months.

How big is it?

It measures 115 cm (45 in) across and about 1.5 cm deep, so it is a lightly padded mat rather than a thick floor cushion. There is room for a child to sit, read or spread out a few toys.

Will it fit inside a play teepee?

Yes. At 115 cm across it sits inside MINICAMP's Fairy Play Teepee, which has a 120 cm inside diameter, and the photos on this page show it used that way. The teepee is sold separately.

What is it made from?

The fabric is unbleached 100% cotton and the pompoms are polyester, both OEKO-TEX certified. The padding is OEKO-TEX certified polyester (PES) wadding. Each mat is hand-sewn in MINICAMP's family workshop in Lithuania.

Can it go in the washing machine?

Yes. Machine wash it at 30°C, let it air dry rather than tumble drying, and iron it while still damp at 110°C or less if you want a crisp finish.
