Personalised Born In Feather Glass Bauble

Some decorations are bought for the tree and some are bought for the year, and the ones in the second group tend to be handled a little more carefully each time they come out of the box.

This clear glass bauble is filled with soft feathers and hung with an acrylic tag personalised with your baby's name and the year they were born. The pink version has pink feathers and a heart-shaped tag; the blue version has blue feathers and a star-shaped tag. The words "born in" are part of the design and sit between the name and the year.

The name can be up to 12 characters and the year up to 4. The personalisation on this design always appears in capital letters, whichever way you type it.

Each bauble is made by hand, so you may notice small marks in the glass, such as faint water marks from the making process. The acrylic tag arrives with a clear protective film on it, which should be peeled off before you hang it.

Peel the clear protective film off the acrylic tag before hanging. Glass can break if it is dropped, so wrap the bauble in tissue when you pack the decorations away.

Because each bauble is handmade, the glass can show small marks such as faint water marks. These come from the making process.

What we like here is the restraint. A clear glass ball and a handful of feathers do the decorating, and the personalised tag says everything that needs saying in two lines. It sits as comfortably on a white and silver tree as on a traditional one, and because the year is part of it, it becomes a quiet way to mark the tree for each child as the family grows.

Is the bauble safe for a baby to hold?

It is a glass decoration for the tree rather than a toy, so hang it out of reach of small hands.
